Varicose Vein Treatment

Refining the Legs with Varicose Vein Treatments

We live in a society obsessed with legs. They get us where we’re going; we use them to dance, to run, to keep our balance while we do yoga and keep us in motion when we’ve got someplace to go. Songs are sung about them; an entire industry of designer shoes thrives by making them look longer and leaner; and endless exercises exist to keep them toned. But the one thing that can’t simply be exercised away (or de-emphasized by a great pair of high heels) is varicose veins; that’s why we offer sclerotherapy to eliminate them and restore a uniform look to the skin.

Varicose Vein Treatment

Sclerotherapy Treatments

The treatment of choice for small varicose veins (sometimes called “spider veins”), sclerotherapy involves injecting a solution directly into the vein. The solution causes the vein to scar and collapse, forcing blood to reroute through healthier veins. The collapsed vein is then reabsorbed into local tissue and eventually fades.

Is This a New Thing?

Not at all. In fact, the first reported attempt at sclerotherapy dates back to the late 17th century, with many advancements being made in the centuries to follow. By refining the treatment and improving its outcomes to a very impressive rate, the industry has given everyone the option of making spider veins a thing of the past.

What To Expect

At Newport Medical and Wellness, we consult with our clients prior to any treatment to make sure we discuss every aspect of the service and answer any questions before proceeding. After a sclerotherapy treatment, treated veins generally tend to fade within a few weeks, and in some cases, up to a month. Occasionally, several sclerotherapy treatments may be needed, but typically, one to two treatments is all it takes.

Even though the procedure itself is very simple, the results are permanent for spider veins treated*. That means after one or, at most, a handful of sessions at our medical spa, your legs will be free of dark, unsightly marks and back to looking strong and flawless.

How Much Does It Cost?

At Newport Medical and Wellness, varicose vein treatments are $300 for an initial treatment and $100 for any subsequent touch-up sessions that may be necessary to completely clear the legs of spider veins.
